At a time when being able to come up with innovative solutions capable of reducing energy consumption and optimizing available renewable resources has become a priority in many sectors, Grandimpianti develops and offers bi-power dryers.
Bi-power dryers are equipment designed to harness two different energy sources to heat the air needed for the fabric drying process.
Two variants are currently available:
- Electric to steam: the first version offers the flexibility to switch between using traditional electric and steam heating. This is made possible by the integration of a selector switch that allows easy switching between the two energy sources. During the colder months, therefore, it is possible to take advantage of the steam generator commonly used in hospitals, RSAs and clinics, for heating and/or other activities. In summer, however, when the centralized steam system is not in operation, the electric option is the preferred one.
- Solar and geothermal energy: the latter makes it possible to harness renewable energy sources such as solar or geothermal energy while greatly reducing dependence on traditional energy sources. In fact, by taking advantage of solar panels (not photovoltaic) or geothermal energy, it is possible to pre-heat the air at almost zero cost, reducing the use of the electric battery and, therefore, also reducing energy consumption by 20 to 30 percent.
All Grandimpianti electric dryers can be offered in bi-power versions: from the GDZ275 to the larger GD1000. Dryers with bi-power technology, therefore, find application in a wide range of sectors, from the food industry to industrial laundry, from hospitals to RSAs.
The benefits are many:
- Reducing energy costs
- Lower environmental impact
- Greater flexibility in the use of energy sources
- Same drying quality as traditional systems
- No waste: the water used in the solar panels goes back into circulation and is not discharged.
Bi-power dryers represent a significant evolution in the field of fabric drying technology. With their ability to harness two different energy sources, they offer an efficient, sustainable and cost-effective solution. By adopting them, companies can not only improve their operational efficiency but also contribute to environmental protection.
